This week, something remarkable happened. Gavin Newsom, one of the most left-wing governors in America, admitted that allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports is “deeply unfair.” Yes, you read that right—the same Gavin Newsom who has spent years pushing radical gender ideology is suddenly concerned about fairness.

Of course, Newsom’s newfound concern has nothing to do with principle and everything to do with political survival. He knows that Democrats are on the losing side of this issue. The American people—across party lines—overwhelmingly oppose the idea of biological males competing in women’s sports. And Newsom, ever the political opportunist, sees the writing on the wall.

Yet, despite this, Senate Democrats filibustered a bill that would have protected women’s sports from the invasion of biological males. The bill, which had already passed the House, would have codified common-sense protections that most Americans—including many Democrats—already support. But instead of standing up for fairness and women’s rights, Senate Democrats caved to the radical activists who have turned their party into a circus.

This Shouldn’t Be a Partisan Issue

For decades, women fought hard to earn their rightful place in sports. Title IX, passed in 1972, ensured that women had equal opportunities in athletics, opening the door for generations of female athletes to compete at the highest levels. But now, that progress is being erased—not by conservatives, but by the very same people who claim to champion women’s rights.

Let’s be clear: biological males have a built-in competitive advantage over biological females. That is not an opinion. That is a scientific fact. No amount of wishful thinking, social activism, or hormone therapy can change the reality of male physiology.

The Science Is Clear: Biology Matters in Sports

The Left loves to pretend that a year or two of estrogen can erase all the physical advantages that come with male puberty, but science (and common sense) says otherwise.

Here’s a breakdown of why biological males dominate when competing against females:

1. Greater Muscle Mass & Strength

  • Even with hormone therapy, males retain higher levels of muscle mass.
  • They have more fast-twitch muscle fibers, which means greater explosive power in sprinting, jumping, and weightlifting.

2. Larger Bone Structure

  • Bigger hands = stronger grip (an advantage in wrestling, basketball, weightlifting).
  • Bigger feet = better balance and propulsion (advantage in running and swimming).
  • Longer limbs = greater reach in boxing, basketball, and swimming.

3. Increased Cardiovascular Capacity

  • Larger hearts pump more blood = better endurance.
  • Bigger lung capacity means more oxygen efficiency, crucial for long-distance running and swimming.

4. Higher Hemoglobin Levels (Even After Hormone Therapy)

  • Hemoglobin carries oxygen in the blood, and males have more of it.
  • This directly translates into better stamina and endurance.

5. Greater Bone Density

  • Stronger bones mean less risk of fractures, giving males a durability advantage in contact sports like rugby, MMA, and football.

6. Faster Recovery Times

  • Male bodies recover from exertion and injuries faster, allowing for more intense training and faster comeback times.

7. Superior Neuromuscular Coordination

  • Faster reflexes and reaction times give males a split-second edge in sports like tennis, boxing, and sprinting.

8. Testosterone Advantage (Even Post-Suppression)

  • Even after years of hormone therapy, males retain higher levels of strength and endurance.
  • A study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that even after two years of testosterone suppression, male athletes still had a 12% advantage over females in running events.

9. Greater Aggression and Competitiveness

  • Testosterone fuels aggression, which is often an asset in high-intensity sports.

10. Unfair Records & Achievements

  • Transgender athletes have shattered records in women’s sports, erasing the hard work of biological women who trained their whole lives.

Real-World Consequences: Women Are Getting Hurt

This isn’t just about fairness—it’s about safety. Girls and women are getting injured in these unfair matchups. Take the case of Payton McNabb, a high school senior in North Carolina who suffered impaired vision and partial paralysis after a transgender player spiked a volleyball into her face. That’s not just unfair—that’s dangerous.

Or consider MMA fighter Fallon Fox, a biological male who fought in the women’s division and fractured the skull of a female opponent. This isn’t some hypothetical debate—real women are suffering real injuries because of this madness.

Women’s sports exist for a reason. Without these protections, female athletes don’t just lose scholarships and records—they risk their safety.

Democrats Are Losing the Public on This Issue

The irony of the Democrats’ filibuster is that it puts them at odds with most Americans. Polls consistently show that a majority of voters—even many Democrats—oppose allowing biological males in women’s sports.

Even the liberal media is starting to shift its tone. The New York Times and Washington Post have begun cautiously acknowledging that maybe, just maybe, fairness matters.

So why did Senate Democrats block this bill? Because they fear their activist base more than they respect reality. But people are waking up. More and more female athletes are fighting back against this madness. Brave young women like Riley Gaines and Paula Scanlan are speaking out, even when it costs them.

Meanwhile, politicians like Gavin Newsom—who has spent years parroting radical gender ideology—are suddenly realizing that their party is on the wrong side of public opinion. Newsom isn’t standing up for fairness—he’s hedging his bets for a future presidential run.

This Isn’t Over: The Tide Is Turning

The whole point of women’s sports is to give women a fair shot at competing. If biological males are allowed to dominate, that opportunity disappears. This isn’t about “inclusion”—it’s about erasure.

The Democrats had a chance to stand up for women this week, and they failed. But the fight isn’t over. More people—even liberals like Newsom—are admitting the truth. The tide is turning.

And the sooner America puts biology over ideology, the better.
