President Joe Biden has stated that he does not support an Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. However, there are compelling reasons why Israel should consider such an action, and why the United States should stand in support of it.

  1. Israel’s Right to Defend Itself: Israel, as a sovereign nation, has an inherent right to defend itself from existential threats. Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons, along with its repeated calls for the destruction of Israel, presents a direct and serious danger to Israel’s survival. Israel’s security is paramount, given the small size of the country and the potential devastation a nuclear attack could cause.
  2. Biblical Support for Israel: The Bible speaks of God’s covenant with the people of Israel and their importance in His plan (Genesis 12:3). As such, the protection of Israel is not only a political or moral issue but a divine mandate. Supporting Israel’s security, including preemptive strikes against its enemies, aligns with fulfilling the biblical command to stand with God’s chosen people.
  3. Moral Obligation to Confront Evil: Evil must be confronted and stopped. Iran’s government, with its history of supporting terrorist organizations, hostility toward Israel, and pursuit of nuclear weapons, is a regime with dangerous and malevolent intentions. A preemptive strike to destroy Iran’s nuclear capability is justified as a necessary act to prevent a much larger, more devastating conflict in the future, potentially saving millions of lives.
  4. Preventing a Nuclear Arms Race: Allowing Iran to obtain nuclear weapons could trigger a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, making the region even more unstable. Peace and stability in the Middle East are crucial, not only for Israel but for the broader global order. Striking Iran’s nuclear facilities would send a strong signal to other countries that nuclear proliferation will not be tolerated, helping to maintain balance and security.
  5. Support for American and Israeli Interests: The U.S. has historically viewed a nuclear-armed Iran as a threat to both its national security and its allies in the region. A strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities could be seen as a way of protecting not only Israel but also safeguarding U.S. interests in the Middle East. Supporting Israel in such an action could strengthen the bond between the two nations and reaffirm America’s role as a global leader in preventing nuclear proliferation.

In summary, Israel’s preemptive strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities is justified as a necessary action to protect Israel’s survival, confront evil, prevent regional instability, and it aligns with both American and Israeli strategic interests.
